I will be at peace when... I take the time to experience the blessings of closure.
Until today, you may have been compelled to move on without forethought or closure.
Just for today, be still! Make no decisions. Give yourself some down time. When you feel ready to move forward, ask the Holy Spirit to show you where and how to move into an eventful new beginning.
Today I am devoted to bringing closure to those experiences that could propel me into a shadow!
Iyanla Vanzant, “Until Today!”
Some relationships with past friends and lovers were forced closed due to whatever situation I’d moved on to if not the toxicity of the relationship itself. It would be at those times where I would withdraw to “lick my wounds” before returning to my social life. Any time there has been a break in my contact with my Circle due to this abandonment, they are generally aware of why, allowing me time to recover. Indeed, as a person that professes to love EVERYONE, I’ve never been one for closure, per se. I mean, if a relationship ended by my choice, I simply walked away without looking back while praying for their happiness because I had already agonized over why we needed to part. If it ended by their choice, after some self-reflection, I knew deep down that it wouldn’t’ve worked out and l would eventually move on, again praying for their happiness. Most times I would immediately learn the lesson from that now defunct association. If I didn’t learn anything, more than likely I would encounter a similar relationship until I did learn. Once I understood why a relationship ended, I was more prepared to move forward with less baggage. Admittedly, I rarely IMMEDIATELY learned my lesson but eventually I did. How do I know? Because I know that a person will only do to you as much as you allow them to do to you and since you’re/I'm only human, I still love EVERYONE!
Until next time
