The greatest service I can offer is… to remember that my heart is strong.
Until today, you may have been operating under the false notion that your heart can be broken.
Just for today, remember that your heart is a muscle that grows stronger as you move through experiences. Preserve the strength of your heart by following its guidance.
Today I am devoted to utilizing and building the capacity of my heart!
Iyanla Vanzant, Until Today!
If I didn’t know it before, trust and believe I know now that my heart has got to be the STRONGEST muscle in my body. It has gone through hell and back and it is still beating as heartily as ever (no pun intended). Most of the pain I have gone through in the past few years could have been avoided had I trusted my heart instead of hiding behind my fears. My heart hasn’t been broken, only bruised but when I think of the hearts I have abused, my heart hurts a bit differently. Not trying to make anyone feel bad because I know how that feels firsthand so charge it to my HEAD if I’ve done you wrong. Clearly I wasn't thinking of the love I have for you if I’ve mistreated you. The more love I show and share, the stronger my heart gets. We all need strong hearts and the capacity to have compassion for others if any of us are going to make it through this thing called Life. No need to make it the most stressful journey ever. And it’s so easy to show love. A lot easier than it is to withhold it when you truly desire to share it. Some of the simplest things show your love for others. Spending time and talking with someone. Laughing and hugging. Just offering a listening ear. If you’re worried you’ll get tired from giving love, I challenge you to giving a day of love every time you are faced with a negative situation and I can ALMOST promise the tables will turn in your favor. Or at least I can hope so because I would love for you to have the best day ever. Always. Repeat again tomorrow. :-)
